TRAVEL DIARIES: TAICHUNG

I hope you all enjoyed the first part of my travel series, all your comments were so so lovely! We went on a mini three day holiday during our last days with our relatives to Tai Chung, which was also in the mountains. They told us to pack warm clothing because it would get very cold but knowing Taiwan we knew their 'cold' would probably be something along the lines of 'a bit chilly so pack some shorts and one jumper'. We were so wrong. We travelled up and up into the mountains, eventually reaching the clouds, and before we knew it we were on top of the mountains, overlooking the endless sea of clouds. It was freezing but in a good way- it was such a refreshing change from the humid and sticky weather I had experienced for a month. We stayed in really cute little cabin hut things and thankfully the beds had an electric heater to warm our bodies up whilst we slept.
As you probably know I'm not a hiking/sporty gal but we went on the most amazing hike which lasted for over 3 hours and when we reached the end we took a bus (the only bus that came on the weekend! What are the chances?!) and took it back up to the place we were staying at.  The last day was where we went back down the mountains where I sadly got over 10 mosquito bites. We had dinner in this cute cafe and watched the sun set which was incredible. Let's just say having mosquito bites on the plane ain't the one.
Hope you liked reading this post, it's giving me post holiday blues so much! School is in a week... I can't believe how fast time has flown, 6 weeks of holiday is definitely not enough!
